Small game hunting

Who is allowed to hunt 

For small game hunting, a firearms license and a state hunting license are required, and the hunter must also buy a hunting license for NVVO's area. For the sale of hunting licenses, see "Contacts". Hunting licenses must be purchased at one of our agents.

Hunters from other countries

Hunting is allowed from September 10. The hunting pressure has been too great at the beginning of the hunt, mainly by foreign hunters. And it is not only the bird population that has been affected, but also the reindeer herding. So this year we have a trial to open the hunt to foreign hunters from September 10.

What can be hunted

For small game hunting, rules apply according to the hunting regulations. Maximum number of forest birds that may be shot: 3 per day and hunting license. (Capercaillie, black grouse, grouse).

Wildlife report

After the hunt is completed, a game report must be submitted to NVVO. The easiest way to do this is via the tab "Wildlife report"

Closed areas

Hunting is not permitted on SCA's land west of the Råne River between Nattavaara and Ruodnabäcken. Hunting should also be avoided on private land Messaurevägen-Pietjesnasko-Tjanasvara due to the reindeer herding. On the map you can see areas marked in red.
